Why not on Robinhood? Services that keep you bound to them are not helpful to you or the future of cryptocurrency. If you believe in decentralizedmoney. You should be in control of your funds 100% of the time. For example, if you buy dogecoin on Robinhood. You can not send dogecoin to a friend or buy goods with dogecoin. Only buy and sell on that platform.
I’d say, Use Uphold. https://uphold.com/en-us there you can buy coins but won’t be able to send. At least not yet. I reached out to them about this. And a customer service rep said they are “Working On It”. So take that with a grain of salt as far as the timeline goes.

If you want to buy coin to have full control (Send And Receive Coins / 100% Ownership). Buy though an exchange. Like
How these work, You will need a stable coin like Bitcoin, ETH, or a variety of options to swap for DOGECOIN. So example if you put in 1 BTC for dogecoin. It will ask you to send / deposit 1 BTC to the address they give you, and you will give them the address of your wallet you want to receive Dogecoin at. Once they get your sent coin they will send the swamped amount to you. They may take a small fee for the exchange but you will own the coin’s you receive. Similar to a currency exchange at a airport. Just digital. Again not all of these sites are to be trusted so when in doubt. Google detective any exchanges that sound funky or too good to be true. Similar to this video:
So with that being said. If your long term into the idea of holding on to coins like doge. You should invest in a good hardware wallet like a Trezor or a Ledger device. Or keep your keys somewhere written safely for a family member in the event of your passing so you can leave your crypto for a friend or a family member. but be warned making a cold wallet or paper wallet exposes your private keys. So if they get lost…. yeah don’t do that. Keep ’em safe and private. And if you use your printer. Please make sure you don’t use a wireless printer. To print a copy of your private keys. Printer security sucks. With that being said here is a good basic link about how to secure your printer network.
With all that. Also if you use faucets aka a place where people can randomly give you bits of doge. Don’t post your private keys!

BEWARE OF DOGECOIN SCAMS: So heads up, In case you didn’t already know there are no secret elon musk dogecoin giveaways. Do not give coins to strangers who claim to be able to double your coins magically. If you are doing Defi that is a whole different story. But some scams include sending dogecoin here to verify and win dogecoin. Don’t do that. Faucets are safer if you really want free coins. When in doubt google links before clicking on them.
